The Tennessee Titans have made a significant move this offseason by trading for Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Solomon Thomas. On the same day, the Cowboys also traded away defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round pick, indicating a strategic reshuffle within their defensive lineup. Solomon Thomas comes off a season where he made notable contributions, recording 27 tackles and one pass deflection over 16 games, including two starts. He had signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Cowboys last offseason and is set to earn $2.5 million in cash in 2026, according to Spotrac. Having spent two-and-a-half seasons under Robert Saleh during his tenure with the New York Jets, Thomas is familiar with the Titans’ new coaching staff, including defensive run game coordinator Aaron Whitecotton. In 2023 with the Jets, he achieved a career-high of five sacks alongside 31 tackles while playing as a rotational defensive lineman. Originally a No. 3 overall pick by the 49ers in 2017, Thomas boasts an impressive career total of 239 tackles, 18.5 sacks, and 36 tackles for loss across 131 games. His acquisition adds depth to a revamped Titans defensive line, which has also seen the arrival of pass rusher Jermaine Johnson II and defensive linemen John Franklin-Myers and Jordan Elliott.
