Puka Nacua Enters Rehab Amid Lawsuit Controversy, Aims for Personal Growth

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua has entered a rehabilitation center in Malibu, California, as confirmed by his lawyer, Levi McCathern, on Wednesday. McCathern stated that Nacua intends to use this time to "improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life." The decision to seek rehabilitation comes in the wake of a lawsuit alleging that Nacua bit a woman and made antisemitic remarks. However, McCathern emphasized that the rehab stay was not a direct response to these allegations, noting that "the combination of stories y'all have run is certainly a contributing factor." In his statement, McCathern described the rehab center as "holistic," providing support for individuals facing issues related to drug and alcohol addiction, chronic pain, and mental health conditions. He mentioned that Nacua had been at the facility for a "substantial period of time" before the allegations became public and is expected to stay there for an extended duration, aiming to return for the Rams' organized team activities this offseason. "He is committed to using this time constructively so that he can return in the best possible position -- both personally and professionally," McCathern stated. Nacua has had a standout performance in his career, leading the league in 2025 with 129 receptions and 1,715 yards. He averaged 107.2 yards per game and scored 10 touchdowns over 16 games. His future with the Rams appears promising, as he is in line for a significant contract extension, and coach Sean McVay has expressed his trust in Nacua, stating he believes in the player’s character.
