Oscar de la Hoya, promoter for Ryan Garcia, has stated that there are currently no discussions regarding a potential fight between the WBC welterweight champion and Conor Benn from Britain. Despite Garcia expressing his desire to face Benn in Las Vegas this September, De La Hoya clarified that the highly anticipated bout is not being negotiated at this time.

Benn, who transitioned from Matchroom to Zuffa Boxing, backed by UFC's Dana White and Saudi investment, is under a one-fight deal as of February and has since secured a multi-fight agreement with them.

De La Hoya told Boxing Scene:

"There's no update. I have been hearing rumblings and rumours. Nobody has talked to me. We obviously have the final say because I am Ryan Garcia's promoter."

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among promoters to facilitate such fights:

"As much as I hate it, let's go. Why not? Because the fighters want this fight. Ryan wants it. Let's make it happen. You have to work with the promoters to make these fights happen."

De La Hoya made it clear that he will not obstruct the fight if it aligns with Garcia's wishes:

"If that's what Ryan wants, that's what he's going to get. It's a matter of details, it's a matter of making sure that all parties are happy."
