O’Reilly Set to Face Arsenal as Guardiola Prepares for Title Showdown

Nico O’Reilly is ready to return for Manchester City against Arsenal this Sunday, as confirmed by Pep Guardiola. The 21-year-old full-back has been in excellent form, netting three goals in his last three matches, including a crucial double in the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal last month and the opening goal in a decisive 3-0 victory over Chelsea. O’Reilly had to leave the pitch in the 63rd minute of the Chelsea match due to a hamstring concern but was seen engaging positively with Guardiola before exiting. He later returned to join his teammates in celebrating the win with City’s away supporters. City's recent success against Chelsea, coupled with Arsenal's defeat at Bournemouth, presents an opportunity for Guardiola's squad to narrow Arsenal's lead at the top of the Premier League to just three points. However, Guardiola emphasized the significance of the upcoming match at the Etihad, suggesting that a loss would effectively end their title hopes. Guardiola stated, “If we lose, it is over,” while acknowledging the tough competition ahead, with several challenging fixtures remaining. He expressed admiration for Arsenal’s performance this season, highlighting their strength across all departments and the challenge they pose. The City manager also noted the need for his team to deliver a "perfect" performance to overcome Arsenal, who are currently leading the league and competing in the Champions League semi-finals. He anticipates tactical adjustments from Mikel Arteta’s side, recognizing their capabilities and resilience throughout the season.
