Noah Caluori Aims for England Test Debut After Stellar Saracens Season

Noah Caluori, the teenage sensation from Saracens, is setting his sights on making his international debut for England this summer after a remarkable season in the Premiership. The 19-year-old has notched up 18 tries this campaign, just two shy of Sam Simmonds' record from 2021. Having trained with Steve Borthwick's senior squad prior to the autumn internationals, Caluori feels prepared to step into international rugby. "I feel like now is a good time [to play international rugby]," he shared on the BBC Rugby Union Weekly podcast. He expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, "I would back myself if I got put into that environment." England's summer fixtures include: South Africa in Johannesburg on 4 July Fiji at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool on 11 July Argentina in Santiago del Estero on 18 July Caluori's rise to fame began with a stunning five-try performance against Sale during his full debut in October, which earned him a place in Borthwick's autumn squad and a subsequent appearance for England 'A' in November. Although he was not included in the Six Nations, he contributed to the England Under-20s, acknowledging that stepping into full international rugby might have been premature at that time. Reflecting on his development, Caluori remarked, "Maybe the autumn or the Six Nations would have been a bit of a rush. But now is a good time, especially experiencing this run-in with everything on the line for Saracens." As one of the league's most talked-about players, Caluori is learning to manage the pressure that comes with his rising profile. "I feel like the most pressure that will come on me is maybe internalised pressure. I've dealt with that pretty well," he noted, emphasizing his focus on being the best teammate and player he can be.
