Neco Williams, the Wales and Nottingham Forest defender, expressed his enjoyment of a demanding season but is eager for a well-deserved break. At 25 years old, Williams has played a pivotal role, participating in 62 matches for both club and country, and he is set to make his 63rd appearance against Romania in a friendly this Saturday. In a recent friendly, Wales faced off against Ghana, ending in a 1-1 draw, where Williams played the full match. He remarked, "It is tiring, but this is what we get paid to do and we enjoy it as well, so I'm happy with that." His dedication to the sport shines through as he stated, "As a footballer, you want to play as many games as possible." During the past season, Williams was instrumental for Nottingham Forest, featuring in 53 matches as they secured their Premier League status and advanced to the Europa League semi-finals. His contributions earned him the title of Forest's Player of the Season, and discussions regarding a contract extension are currently underway. Williams acknowledged the physical and mental challenges of the season, stating, "It's physically and mentally tough, but we're professional enough to deal with what gets put in front of us." Looking ahead, he plans to unwind with a holiday, enjoying cocktails and relaxing on the beach before returning to training. "We'll get a couple of weeks off and then straight back into it," he added, highlighting his commitment to the game.
