Keira Walsh Joins Elite Club as 15th England Women's Player to Reach 100 Caps

Keira Walsh has made history by becoming only the 15th England Women's player to achieve a remarkable century of senior appearances. The Chelsea midfielder, aged 29, reached this milestone at Wembley during the Lionesses' 2027 World Cup qualifier against Spain on Tuesday night. While Walsh's accomplishment is significant, she still trails behind the all-time leaders in England Women’s appearances. The record is held by Fara Williams, who played an astounding 172 times for England Women throughout her 18-year international career, which included participation in three World Cups. Following Williams is Jill Scott, who amassed 161 caps during her illustrious career. Both players are the only women to have surpassed the 150-cap milestone. Currently, the closest active player to Williams' record is Lucy Bronze, aged 34, who has made 146 appearances for her country, with her latest cap being against Spain. Additionally, Alex Greenwood, a 32-year-old defender for Manchester City, has also made her mark with 108 appearances for the England Women’s team.
