Jhonatan Narváez Claims Stage Four Glory as Giulio Ciccone Takes Pink Jersey

Ecuador’s Jhonatan Narváez from UAE Team Emirates XRG celebrated a thrilling victory on stage four of the Giro d’Italia, finishing ahead of Orluis Aular. Home rider Giulio Ciccone secured the overall leader’s pink jersey by crossing the line in third place. The stage marked a significant shift in the race as it returned to Italy after three stages in Bulgaria. The action intensified when Aular surged ahead of Ciccone, but Narváez executed a powerful comeback, overtaking Aular in the final moments. Key highlights from the stage include: Distance: 138km from Catanzaro to Cosenza The race escalated at the foot of the long climb to Cozzo Tunno, 80km in, breaking the peloton into a reduced group of 40 riders. Ciccone earned four bonus seconds for his third-place finish, placing him four seconds ahead of Jan Christen, Florian Stork, and Egan Bernal in the overall standings. Looking ahead, the fifth stage promises to further shake up the general classification with nearly 4,000 meters of climbing over a challenging 203km route from Praia a Mare to Potenza. The 109th edition of the men’s Giro concludes on 31 May in Rome.
