Enzo Fernandez Returns as Chelsea Prepares for Key Clash Against Manchester United

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is set to return for Saturday’s crucial match against Manchester United after serving a two-game suspension due to inappropriate comments. The Argentine had stirred controversy by expressing interest in Real Madrid and uncertainty about his future at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior emphasized that Fernandez’s remarks crossed a line, resulting in his exclusion from the squad. The 25-year-old missed significant matches, including a 7-0 victory over Port Vale in the FA Cup and a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. On Thursday, Rosenior confirmed Fernandez's return, stating: "Enzo has been with the group and has been training very, very well. So, it’s business as usual in terms of selection for the game." The manager praised Fernandez's integration back into the team, noting: "The group has been fantastic. In terms of his training, his application to training, Enzo has been fantastic as well." In addition to Fernandez, defender Trevoh Chalobah is nearing a comeback after being sidelined since their Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain. However, regular captain Reece James remains unavailable due to injury. Rosenior provided updates: Trevoh Chalobah trained but is not fully fit yet. Levi Colwill, recovering from a serious ACL injury, is back in first-team training and will play for the under-21 side in a friendly. Rosenior expressed hopes to see Colwill back before the end of the season, emphasizing the importance of ensuring he is fully fit before returning to the first team.
