New Zealand Strengthens Pace Attack with Jamieson and O'Rourke for England Series

Kyle Jamieson and Will O'Rourke have made their comeback from injuries, enhancing a formidable New Zealand pace attack ahead of next month's Test series against England and a one-off Test against Ireland. Kyle Jamieson, the towering seamer aged 31, has not participated in a Test since 2024 due to back issues, while 24-year-old O'Rourke returns after a back stress fracture sidelined him since August. In a notable inclusion, batter Kane Williamson, who last donned the Black Caps jersey in December, is part of the squad after opting for a more casual contract to explore franchise opportunities. However, there are some notable absences: Mitchell Santner, the spinner, is out due to a shoulder injury sustained during the Indian Premier League. Jacob Duffy is unavailable as he celebrates the birth of his first child. Michael Bracewell has opted to step back from Test cricket and is not included in the squad. New Zealand will kick off their campaign with a four-day match in Belfast starting on 27 May, before facing Ben Stokes' England in a three-Test series that begins at Lord's on 4 June.
