David Haye Urges Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to Finally Clash in Epic Showdown

David Haye, the former world heavyweight champion, insists that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury must finally agree to fight, emphasizing that this matchup represents the biggest bout possible for both fighters. Haye, who was a prominent figure in British heavyweight boxing before the rise of Joshua and Fury, believes the time has come for them to face off. Haye stated, "That's the biggest fight they could both possibly have. They should be pushing it, they should be pressing it, they have to be." He highlighted the significance of their legacies, noting that both fighters need to establish their place in history by battling each other. Both Fury and Joshua recently lost their world titles to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury is returning to boxing after a year-long hiatus, while Joshua is training again after recovering from a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of two close friends. Talks are ongoing regarding a potential fight this year, although Joshua might have a warm-up fight first. Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, confirmed that they have received a contract for the Fury fight, which is currently under discussion. Haye acknowledged that both fighters may be past their prime but stressed the importance of this fight happening, comparing it to the delayed matchup between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. He noted, "Maybe this is their commercial peak. Maybe they will earn more money now than they would have done when it was first talked about." Haye also pointed out that Fury's recent fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov serves as good preparation for the anticipated showdown with Joshua, likening Makhmudov’s style to that of Joshua. He concluded, "That's a massive fight that the fans want to see."
