The team reportedly made a historic offer, exceeding the $6.4 million annual salary of Harrison Butker from the Kansas City Chiefs. Aubrey's agent has requested a $10 million deal, making negotiations critical before free agency begins on March 11. Furthermore, the Cowboys placed a franchise tag on standout receiver George Pickens, ensuring they retain his rights while they pursue a long-term contract. However, trading Pickens remains a possibility if the Cowboys choose to focus their cap space on more pressing defensive needs. With last season's defense allowing an alarming 30.1 points per game, significant upgrades are necessary.
