Chelsea's Eghbali Promises Change Amid Struggles and Backing for Rosenior

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali has revealed that the club plans to shift its transfer strategy towards signing "ready-made" players, following a turbulent season. In a rare interview at the CAA's World Congress of Sports conference in Los Angeles, Eghbali discussed various topics, including the club's current head coach Liam Rosenior and the recent departure of former head coach Enzo Maresca, which he described as "not a change we wanted to make". Currently, Chelsea is facing a critical situation, sitting four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool and having won just one of their last seven league games. Eghbali acknowledged the negative impact of Maresca's departure, stating, "It's a change that had a bit of a negative impact in the season". He emphasized the importance of stability within the management team and expressed hope that the remaining matches, including an FA Cup semi-final, could still lead to a successful conclusion to the season. Eghbali expressed his confidence in Rosenior, stating, "We think he has every attribute to be successful here". He also highlighted the club's commitment to a youth-oriented transfer policy while acknowledging the need for more experienced players to achieve sustained success. In addressing the fans' concerns, Eghbali reassured them of BlueCo's commitment to improving their ownership strategy, stating, "We care. We want the club to be successful". He reiterated the objective of winning trophies consistently, emphasizing that "the message is we're committed" to turning the club's fortunes around.
