Chelsea has had a long-standing interest in her, successfully fending off competition from Manchester City, the reigning WSL champions. McCabe's history with Chelsea dates back to 2015, when an approach was made, but she chose Arsenal instead. Attempts to sign her again in 2023 were initially unsuccessful. In April, Arsenal offered her a late contract renewal, but she opted to explore other opportunities, with Chelsea and City expressing interest.
