BBC Football Awards Celebrate Top Talent Across Premier League, WSL, and More
The BBC Sport has announced the winners of its inaugural end-of-season football awards for the 2025-26 season, recognizing outstanding performances across the Premier League, Women's Super League, Scottish Premiership, and EFL. The awards were determined by a panel of experts, including notable pundits like Chris Sutton and Ellen White. In the Premier League, Declan Rice of Arsenal took home the top prize, playing a pivotal role in securing the club's first title since 2004. His contributions included set-piece expertise and effective leadership. Just behind him was Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, who set a new assists record, while Igor Thiago of Brentford finished third with 22 goals. For the EFL, Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth claimed second place for his scoring prowess, with Max Dowman from Arsenal earning third for his role in their title run. Harrison Reed of Fulham captured the award for the best goal, thanks to a stunning late equalizer against Liverpool. Reed's teammate, Harry Wilson, and Rayan Cherki of Manchester City followed closely behind. In the Women's Super League, Khadija Shaw of Manchester City was a standout, scoring 21 goals and providing four assists, leading her team to the title and winning the award with over 80% of the vote. Andree Jeglertz, also from Manchester City, was named manager of the year. Derek McInnes of Hearts won the Scottish Premiership manager award by a narrow margin, while Martin O'Neill of Celtic secured third place despite leading his team to their fifth consecutive title. In the EFL, Andy Woodman of Bromley was recognized for back-to-back promotions, marking a significant achievement in his managerial career.
