Barcelona Targets Brazilian Star Eduardo Conceicao Amid Manchester City Chase

This summer’s transfer window is shaping up to be a pivotal one for Barcelona, as the club aims to bolster Hansi Flick’s squad with multiple new signings. Sporting director Deco is strategically looking to Brazil for fresh talent, despite the previous setback with Vitor Roque, who was sold to Palmeiras in early 2025. Barcelona has shifted its focus to another promising player from Palmeiras: Eduardo Conceicao. Deco initiated contact with Conceicao’s representatives back in January, signaling the club's serious interest in securing his services. Recent reports from Sport indicate that club-to-club communications have intensified in the past few days, highlighting Barcelona's desire to finalize a deal. To complicate matters, Manchester City has entered the fray, making a strong push to sign the 16-year-old by submitting a €40 million offer. However, Palmeiras is likely aiming for a fee closer to the €60 million they received from Real Madrid for Endrick a couple of years ago. Barcelona has the financial capability to meet this demand, as the transfer fee would not impact their records until Conceicao officially joins in January 2028, after he turns 18. Conceicao is viewed as a potential immediate impact player for Barcelona, ideally suited to replace Raphinha on the left wing. Additionally, his versatility allows him to compete in the attacking midfielder role against Fermin Lopez and Dani Olmo.
