Anthony Joshua Eyes Moses Itauma Fight After Tyson Fury Showdown

Anthony Joshua has expressed interest in a future bout with rising star Moses Itauma, while outlining potential matchups following his highly anticipated fights with Tyson Fury. The heavyweight icons, AJ and Fury, are set to clash in an all-British showdown later this year, with details regarding the date and location expected soon. A rematch is also scheduled for 2027. Before facing Fury, Joshua has a fight lined up against Kristian Prenga on 25 July, while Fury aims for a warm-up match this summer. Fans have speculated about the possibility of both fighters retiring after their encounters, but Joshua has downplayed these notions. In a recent interview with The Ring, he stated: "With me and Fury, it can’t be the only one, because I know if I stay around long enough, there’s the rematch with [Daniel] Dubois, there’s a potential Fabio [Wardley] fight. There’s the Agit [Kabayel] fight out there, providing he becomes champion, how big that would be. There’s an Itauma fight as he’s coming up the rankings, there’s still the [Deontay] Wilder fight out there." Joshua emphasized that Fury is just another opponent, stating, "I don’t put him on no pedestal, he ain’t above no one. They’re all in my way, all on the same level." Both fighters are former two-time world heavyweight champions. Their long-awaited matchup has seen delays, including a signed contract in 2021 that fell through due to legal issues surrounding Wilder. However, the fight is now closer to reality, with potential dates in October or November at Wembley Stadium. Before that, Joshua will face Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, while Fury aims to compete in Dublin, Ireland on 1 August. Joshua last fought in December, defeating Jake Paul in six rounds, shortly after surviving a car crash in Nigeria that resulted in the tragic loss of two teammates.
