Angus Bell Aims for Glory in Challenge Cup Final with Ulster Against Montpellier

Angus Bell, a seasoned loose-head prop, has expressed that the upcoming Challenge Cup final against Montpellier on Friday in Bilbao ranks as one of the highlights of his career. Currently on a six-month sabbatical with Ulster Rugby from the NSW Waratahs, the 25-year-old has a wealth of experience, having played for Australia in the Rugby Championship, the 2023 World Cup, and against the British and Irish Lions last summer. Bell, who started all four of the Wallabies' Test matches in November and was named in Opta's team of the autumn internationals, is keen to help Ulster secure their first silverware in 20 years. He emphasized the importance of the match, stating, "It's probably one of the biggest things I've been a part of in my career so far and I'm really excited for the weekend." He aims to create lasting memories for both the players and the club, saying, "It would be a huge honour to get some silverware for Ulster Rugby. All the players and coaches would really deserve it for all the hard work they have put in this year." Bell highlighted the significance of the front row battle, noting the presence of several international players on Montpellier's side. He remarked, "They'll definitely be there or thereabouts and definitely be competing really hard for that, but we're equally excited for that battle." Despite missing the semi-final victory over Exeter Chiefs due to a foot injury, Bell has described his time in Belfast as "probably the best experience" of his career. He aims to contribute to the growing talent at Ulster, stating, "There's so much talent coming through Ulster Rugby and it's really exciting. I'm just happy that I get to be a small part of that." In this pivotal match, Bell looks to solidify his legacy while helping Ulster achieve a long-awaited triumph.
